My favorite IP, which includes my favorite game of all time – Baldur’s Gate 2. After finishing Baldur’s Gate 3 (and making some serious progress into a replay), I’m happy to say Baldur’s Gate 3 is a worthy successor. BG2 is still the top dog for me, but I think given a year for the mod scene to develop (and for Larian to officially support mods), BG3 will take the crown. Really, though, does it matter? The entire Baldur’s Gate series is just amazing. I’m pretty happy that one is in real-time and one is turn-based, as they both scratch different itches.
If you’ve never played Baldur’s Gate 1 or 2, I highly recommend buying the Enhanced Editions for both. Also, if you’ve never played the games, this page will make no sense to you.
The primary purpose of this page is to highlight my Baldur’s Gate 2/EET mod: WeissMod, available from github. It adds a gold cost to resting that escalates throughout the game based on either elapsed in-game time, # of rests, or both. It’s been tested by me playing on SCS on Hardcore, for most of a campaign (still working on it as I get time). However, I’ve played the game enough that the balance should be fine. It’s also fairly customizable. For those playing through EET with Siege of Dragonspear, it also allows players to keep gold & items when transitioning from BG1 to SoD and SoD to BG2.
Give it a try. Let me know what you think.
